King Arthur - Scenes 4 & 5

For AJ

Scene 4

Arthur slowly gets up, his sobs begin to diminish, he walks over to the refrigerator, grabs a beer, chugs it, sighs in relief.

He shrugs: "I love her, (is walking over to throne) but how can a great king possible lead his people without a beautiful woman at his side?

"Will people still respect me?" (Takes a swig, he's comfortable, leg over arm of chair)

'If I go after Guinevere, it will strike a bad chord in the friendship of Lancelot and myself...

"But if I don't, I will appear weak, careless, undetermined to fight for what I believe in.

'I will be viewed as a coward."

(Cut to him at the fridge, new beer in hand.)
(Cut to Arthur back on the throne)

"Or! I will be viewed as a god! A hero, among men!"

(He gets up, starts to pace around the room)

"Yes, yes," (his speech quickens, steeples fingers, maniacal)

"They will see that I can take back control of Britain, while being merciful enough to elect the new emperor of Rome.

"The troops will love me, our people will be allies, I will remain on top, and everyone wins!

"But...

"Guinevere..."

Scene 5

Scene at the dog park, or something, Guinevere and Lancelot are frolicking in the lake, joyfully.

Cut to scene with a bunch of people in the apartment, having fun, dancing down the stairs, fade out to doing a conga line around the apartment...

Let me know what you think!
